With the exception of the Degree Exemplification, which is intended for new members only, all are welcome at our events. Friday, October 21st, 7pm: Extraordinary Form Mass (Traditional Latin Mass) & Investiture in the Brown Scapular of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. Please join us in the Upper Church of St. Paul Parish for a votive Mass in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which will conclude with the enrollment in the Brown Scapular, an important sacramental of the Church. This will be followed by a reception in Harvard Catholic Center Lounge. All are welcome. Sunday best attire.



  
Saturday, October 22nd, 8-11pm: Bowling (K)Night! Join us at Sacco's in Davis Square for an evening of candlepin bowling and fellowship. Meet at the John Harvard statue at 8pm and we'll travel together as a group. All are welcome. Casual attire.

Sunday, October 23rd, 3-4:30pm: Initiation and Holy Mass. Registration prior to the Exemplification of the First Degree will take place at 3PM in Room 203 of the Harvard Catholic Center at St. Paul Parish. [Brothers, as candidates are preparing in the Antechamber, Room 203, please arrive and prepare in the Degree Chamber, Room 202.] Candidates only for registration. Formal attire (shirt and tie). Following the Degree, all Brothers are invited to attend Holy Mass together at 5pm in the Lower Church. Dinner with the Brothers will follow Holy Mass.

Monday, October 24th, 7pm-8pm: Holy Family Society: The Spiritual Combat. Please join us in Room 202 of the Harvard Catholic Center to attend a meeting of this joint catechesis group, in collaboration with the Daughters of Isabella, which meets on Mondays throughout the semester to foster study of scripture, the cultivation of the interior life, and promote a greater understanding of the teachings of Holy Mother Church. This week we will study The Spiritual Combat by Dom Lorenzo Scupoli. More details are posted here, along with a schedule and all readings. All are welcome. Casual attire.

Tuesday, October 25th, 7-8pm: Open Officers' Meeting: This open business meeting will be held in Room 202 of the Harvard Catholic Center at St. Paul Parish. All new members are welcome to join fellow Brother Officers and learn more about our work and mission on campus. All are welcome. Casual attire. Following this meeting, all undergraduates are encouraged to attend the Catholic Student Association's "Super Tuesday" series in the Harvard Catholic Center Lounge.

Wednesday, October 26th, 9:45-11am: Serving the Community as Catholic Gentlemen: Brothers and guests will assist with maintenance projects at Cambridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Center (formerly Vernon Hall Nursing Home) at 8 Dana Street. Meet at St. Paul's courtyard at 9:45am to walk over. All are welcome. Casual attire.

Wednesday, October 26th, 7pm-8pm: Catholicism Project: The 5th Annual Film Series continues in DiGiovanni Hall of St. Paul Parish (29 Mt. Auburn St.) with another episode of Fr. Robert Barron's epic Catholicism project. More information on this series, which runs on Wednesdays throughout the fall semester, is link here. All are welcome. Casual attire.

Thursday, October 27th, 6-7pm: Community Service, cont. Brothers and friends of the Council are invited to accompany Brothers to Cambridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Center (formerly Vernon Hall Nursing Home) at 8 Dana Street, as we visit and pray with the elderly. All are welcome. Casual attire. (Please meet in the St. Paul Parish Courtyard at 5:55pm to walk over as a group).

Thursday, October 27th, 8:30-9:30pm: Eucharistic Adoration and Holy Hour. Student Center Chapel (29 Mt. Auburn St.). You are invited to join us in prayer and meditation before the Blessed Sacrament. There will also be a community rosary and a directed Gospel reflection. All are welcome. Casual attire.


Membership Requirements

To join the Knights of Columbus, a man must be at least 18 years of age and a practical Catholic. Typically, members of the Pope John Paul II Council have some affiliation with Harvard University, though exceptions to this may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Any man interested in joining our Council should contact the Deputy Grand Knight, Br. James Holt, by sending an email to HarvardKnights [at] gmail.com.

At events, candidates are encouraged to meet the Brothers, ask questions, and learn about the mission of the Knights of Columbus and our Council's work. Candidates should obtain and complete a Form-100 Membership Document, which will be available at all Council events, or upon request. Finally, all men seeking membership must attend the Exemplification of the First Degree on Sunday, October 23rd, 2011.
